Poker and Hypnosis

Suggestion and association are two skills of the hypnotist that can easily transpose themselves to being used in other than hypnotic circumstances.

Obviously negotiating and selling can do nothing but benefit from a little psychological direction but what about the games we play with each others minds when we are playing games? Especially real grown up games like golf and especially poker.

Although being able to psych yourself up and improve your own abilities seems to be the thing most people are seeking to get through visiting hypnosis the other element is often missed completely. That of being able to psych-out your adversaries.

I had a guy come to me who wanted to earn more on the poker tables as a pro. Naturally he thought he could be a better player, increased memory, more focus, controlling his tells and being better to be able to read others. And naturally these things were easily accomplished. His winnings grew in six months by 15%. He was happy but not delirious. So we looked at the game and at the aspects of poker which most people think they have no control over.

The cards are dealt from shuffled deck. Apart from cheating, and I'd never condone that, we couldn't affect that. neither could we affect the dealer. No point as they had no more control than we would over which cards were dealt.

However what we found he could affect was sitting right next to him, the other players. Using the skills of hypnotic communication and active influence we found that he could, once he'd practiced, start to influence when and how the other players made their choices.

Poker, just as most games do, is a series of choices and actions. Some of those are designed to affect the way other players play. An aggressive 'All In' may be a sign that the hand being bet on is a doozey, or it could just as easily be a bluff designed to crush the insecure.

With applied anchoring skills and psychological direction any player can not only help themselves to win, but can also assist those around them to lose, which after all is what any game is all about.
